China Clay Gala Weekend
Step into the rich industrial heritage of Cornwall at our China Clay Gala, a lively celebration of railways that powered the region’s famed white gold industry! Climb aboard passenger services, goods trains (with limited brake van rides- available to book on the day), and enjoy clay wagon experiences throughout the weekend.
Watch heritage shunting displays in action, explore wagons from the 1950s to the recently retired CDA (1987–2023), and catch our freshly overhauled Class 08, 08444, in classic BR Blue. Plus, the iconic Beattie Well Tank will be on static display, paying tribute to over a century of clay rail history.
With a nod to education and family fun, we’re aiming to keep things affordable—with “kids for a quid” entry to spark the next generation of railway fans!
